OnlyFans Verification Not Working? What to Check First

OnlyFans checks your ID, a selfie, your details, your country and your payment info before a creator account opens. Here is what its own documents say gets matched, and where to look when it fails.

    In short

OnlyFans creator verification compares a selfie with your ID photo and checks your name, country, payment details and account history, as its Terms and Privacy Policy describe. When a check fails, the provider records a reason you can ask OnlyFans support about.

How this guide was made: Nocturnal Talent wrote it with AI tools, and every fact in it is checked against the sources it links to.

When OnlyFans creator verification fails, look for something that doesn't match. Your selfie has to match your ID photo, and the details you type have to match your document. Your situation also has to fit the platform's rules.

OnlyFans sets this out in two places. One is its Terms of Service, last updated August 2024. The other is its Privacy Policy, last updated June 2026. Verification is one step in starting an OnlyFans page, and the rest is easier once it has passed.

Rule one thing out first. If you were asked to prove your age while browsing as a fan, that's a different process. According to the Privacy Policy, fans may be asked for age estimation or age and identity verification depending on their location, including email address age estimation and facial age estimation. Everything below is about opening a creator account.

What OnlyFans checks before a creator account opens

The OnlyFans Privacy Policy says these checks are meant to ensure creators are at least 18 years of age and verify their identity. It lists five checks before a Creator account can start:

    1. Your creator details.

    2. Your country of residence. The policy says this check is "intended to ensure lawful access to OnlyFans and the Services."

    3. Your financial data, which is also collected "as a verification and anti-fraud measure."

    4. A third-party age and identity verification.

    5. A check that you haven't been banned from OnlyFans before.

From your side, the Terms put it like this. To open a Creator account, you upload a valid form of ID and two photos of you, add a bank account, payment details or a payment method, and select a payout option. You also hand over any additional information OnlyFans requests, which "may vary depending on where you live or your nationality."

The Privacy Policy spells out what "creator details" means: your full name, an alias if you have one, your residential address, your city and country of birth, your country of residence, a copy of your government identity document and a selfie of you holding that document.

Your selfie against your ID photo

OnlyFans doesn't run the face check itself. The Privacy Policy says a third-party provider collects a short .gif taken from a selfie and a photo from your government identity document, then uses face recognition to match the two images.

Start with the document. OnlyFans asks for a "valid form of ID," and an expired ID is unlikely to count. Check the expiry date before you change anything else.

Then look at the selfie. Nothing in the policy mentions makeup, hair color or lenses. On a plain reading, though, the check compares your face in the selfie with the face on your ID, so a selfie that looks very different from that photo gives the match less to work with. If your ID photo was taken years ago or with a very different look, that gap is worth knowing about before you retake.

A failed check isn't silent on the provider's side. The Privacy Policy says the provider records the result as pass or fail, along with the "reason for failing." The policy doesn't say how much of that reason you're shown, but it does mean there's a recorded reason you can ask about.

Passing once doesn't end it either. Under the Terms, a creator must submit additional age or identity verification information any time OnlyFans asks, and the Privacy Policy says OnlyFans may require you to periodically authenticate your identity. Where the provider kept your face data, you don't need to show your government identity document again for those repeat checks.

Anyone else in your content needs the same. Under the Terms, each person must be an OnlyFans creator you've tagged, or an adult whose proof of identity and written, informed consent you've obtained.

When your details don't line up

Plenty of goth and alt creators work under a stage name. In the Privacy Policy, the alias field is listed separately from your full name. Read plainly, a stage name sits beside your legal name and doesn't replace the name on your ID, so the name you enter for verification should be the one printed on that document. Your stage name can carry your page while your legal name stays with verification; these goth OnlyFans bio ideas help you write around it.

Your country of residence is checked on its own, and the extra information OnlyFans asks for can change with where you live or your nationality. If you've moved recently, check that the country you enter and the address you give agree with each other.

Payment details count too. Because the policy treats financial data as a verification and anti-fraud measure, your bank account or payment method is part of the check.

If you add a social media handle or personal website, the Privacy Policy says it's used to further verify your age and identity. Give one that's yours and still active.

Reasons a new selfie won't fix

Some checks have nothing to do with your photos.

    • Check five in the Privacy Policy is whether you've been banned from OnlyFans before.

    • If you're based in the US, the policy says OnlyFans may use background screening providers, with your full name and date of birth, to check for a serious criminal conviction, including the sex offenders registry. The Terms also say a user must not be convicted of committing a serious crime.

    • OnlyFans "may reject an account application for any reason."

Neither document says how long creator verification review takes, and neither lists which countries are accepted. So any timeline or country list you've read elsewhere didn't come from these two documents.

Verification with an agency on board

Nocturnal Talent is an OnlyFans agency for goth creators, and we're not affiliated with OnlyFans. Its checks are run by OnlyFans, under its own rules. If you're still deciding whether to start at all, read whether goth is a good OnlyFans niche.

Our Age and Consent Policy, last updated October 2, 2026, keeps verification in your hands. If you're new to OnlyFans, you complete the OnlyFans verification yourself, with your own ID. We never complete it for you, and nothing gets run or promoted until your account has passed. During onboarding we also check a valid government photo ID ourselves and confirm that the name and date of birth match the person we're working with.

The same policy covers stage names. Many creators work under one, and we treat your real identity as confidential, so your legal name never reaches fans without your permission. Your account stays in your name and belongs to you. If you're still planning your look and your name, start with how to become an alt model.

    Before you try again

Go back through the five checks with your documents in front of you:

    • Is your ID in date?

    • Does the name you entered match the name on your ID exactly?

    • Do your country of residence and your address agree?

    • Did you add bank or payment details and pick a payout option?

    • Does your selfie look like the photo on your ID?

If everything lines up and it still fails, write to OnlyFans. Its Terms give support@onlyfans.com as the address for anything about the platform or its Terms of Service. Ask what reason was recorded for your failed check, since the provider logs one.
